Your winter tires size and brand

So I'm looking in purchasing winter tires for this upcoming winter for my just purchased 2010 MDX.

I'm thinking going with 17inch. Dealers says tire sizes should be 235/65/r17.

But looking on tirerack, they suggest 245/65/r17 instead of 235/65/r17 .

So what do you guys have? and which winter tires are you rocking your MDX with?

Thanks

I would check with another dealer. Tirerack is usually pretty good about these things. Dunno where you are located but of all our cars, the heavy MDX is the one where I think I can get through an NJ winter with good all seasons and not winter tires.

I would go with tire racks suggestion, they have very knowledgeable staff.

I just purchased a set of yokohama ice guard ig51v running off 09 mdx wheels 255/55/18

@dzionny_dzionassi- wow thats pushing at least $1K in tires alone with that size

Currently I have Blizzak LM25s on my Benz ( used 1 season in early 2014). They work well. I cannot really tell any difference between the Blizzaks and the all season Conti Pro Contacts that were OEM. 255/40/18

I just installed cheap Falken Eurowinter 449s on my SC430 convertible. For what I paid, I am pretty satisfied. Very minor vibration at 45 mph, very solid at 75-80 mph. Very slight increase in road noise but you really have to be looking for it to notice. Cornering performance is about in line with previous all season tires ( Conti Extreme Contact DWS ). 245/40/18

I bought OEM disks from demo car on ebay and set of Nokian tires. For advance 19 inch only Nokian, Bridgestone and Yakohama are available now. I had Bridgestone Blizzak for 2 seasons on my other car Honda Pilot 2011. They are too noisy and don't last at all, have to change them for Micheline this year. I like Micheline Xi2, but there is no 19 inch size of them. Yakohama... I don't know anything about.
I was waiting for Nokian R2 come with this size. Very nice for now, low noise and was very good on light snow/ice.

And... I want to say about tire rack. They send me tires on rims with water inside for my 2011 Pilot. Honda was able to fix it. 2 private shops told me that my car had vibration not because of the tires. They also don't work with Nokian. I bought my Nokian at simpletire. Took 4 days to get them.
I don't work for Nokian, simpletire, honda, acura......

Tire Rack is decent...

SP Winter Sport 3D in 255/55/18 on base 2010 MDX. Handling is relatively good for a winter tire but tread does have some noise and vibration (just barely noticeable).

Yokohama iceGUARD iG51v looks promising to me (and they're cheap).

I picked up a set of Michelin Xice Xi3 from Tire Rack with a set of MSW wheels for my TL and love them (went down to 17" on this one). I was looking at the Yoko's as well but they were out of stock by the time I got around to buying. Buy with confidence from Tire Rack; I've bought from the before and would buy again.
